Tikal to Rio Dulce 158 miles wow, good roads, a few topas here and there, great vistas, over mountains, small roadside towns.....stopped and shopped. Bought several things from a wood worker, a turtle, spoon, earrings, ring. We were led to a lunch spot by staff...."Finca Ixobel(e-sh-o-bel)", a very nice eco hotel.
Tonight we are at Rio Dulce at a marina"Nana Juana" in the parking lot but there is a hoyel with a pool, changing rooms with hot showers, and Wi-Fi.
The weather here is glorious! low 80's and fairly dry even tho we are by a large lake....
We are staying here tomorrow too.... Happiness!

We know you are having the time of your lives!
ReplyDeleteWonderful opportunity to see so many different things and you seem to be doing just that.
Enjoy you blog so very much.
Loving your "fresh" view of things and the obvious delight in the newness; also noting your obvious longing for some "civilized" ameneties! at least it's balmy; it's still near zero here, terrible wind! enjoy, Diana
ReplyDeleteAre you still in Guatemala? Love the blog.
