Days 30 & 31 Jan 27 & 28

Tikal National Park we are here for 3 nights.

First, we had a 5 hour guided tour around the ruins, led by a mayan desendant(beatiful man), extremely interesting and proud! There are lots of local people, artisans, doing their crafts...weaving, doll making, wood working.....

Spent the afternoon doing laundry and catching up with e mail and blogging....

And people watching, tourists, so interesting the large number of young people back packing, tent camping, a few with small children... and a few cycling. Met a young man from Baltimore, biking his way south, by himself. Also alot of europeans.....

It rained all night, had a few leaks since we are not quite level the water ran along the window slides the wrong way...IN. No real damage, it's just so damp, humidity, it takes forever for things to dry!

Second day, the excitement was a Zip line trip through the Jungle! Fantastic, Breath taking, exhilarating, such a rush! At my age I don't get too many of those feelings!
Today is also my eldest grandaughhters 21st birthday!
We were entertained tonight by a loud marimba band at a private dinner given us by Adventure Caravans.
